Renewals and more available with no appointment needed
A new kiosk has been set up at Morgan County Courthouse that is designed to help area residents when it comes to renewing their driver’s license and more.
“It is a kiosk that will allow you to do more things than you can actually do in here for driver’s license,” Morgan County Clerk Cheryl Collins said. “It will let you renew your existing driver’s license; it will actually let a CDL renew their driver’s license through here; it will let you do reinstatement fees if your driver’s license is suspended. It will also renew IDs and do duplicates, change address and emergency contacts; it does a lot more than what we’re able to do inside here.”
Collins says the process is quick as well and you can do it on your schedule.
“If people are just coming in for a renewal, they cam come in at anytime. They don’t have to have an appointment,” she said. “For the past five years, we’ve only been doing appoints for driver’s license because we’re very limited on staff, but this allows them to come in and do a renewal anytime the courthouse is open.”
Collins says those that have used the kiosk say it is quick and easy, with only one problem so far.
“Sometimes you have to take two or three pictures because you have to be standing in the right place for it to recognize you.”
