No One injured after truck crashes into dining area
McDonald’s of Oneida is closed today following an accident from a high-speed chase this morning in which a Ford F-150 crashed into the dining room of the restaurant located off Alberta Street.
According to reports, 40-year-old Andrew Leininger, of Ohio, was arrested and charged with speeding, evading arrest and resisting arrest in connection with the incident.
Leininger is believed to have been involved in a chase earlier in the morning in Allardt, after he allegedly ran a stop sign and failed to stop for Fentress County officers.
Leininger was also allegedly involved in a similar incident in Darke County, Ohio on March 28.
According to reports, Leininger was driving in the wrong lanes of Interstate 70 before exiting and traveling at high rates of speed on US Highway 127. Deputies eventually caught up with Leininger’s vehicle after it was involved in a crash.
After a foot pursuit, Leininger was apprehended in a cemetery.
He was placed into custody for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and felony obstructing official business.
McDonald’s of Oneida owner Kevin Hailey hopes to have the drive thru open tomorrow, but says the dining room will not reopen until repairs are complete.
