Victims identified in deadly Highway 62 crash

The names of the two people killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehichle accident in Morgan County on Highway 62 between Coalfield and Oliver Springs have been released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

According to a THP report, 53-year-old Pamela Bane, and 37-year-old Danielle Melton died in the accident.

The report states Melton was traveling west on Highway 62 in a 2008 Honda CRV when she failed to maintain her lane and crossed into striking a 2012 Ford F-450 van belonging to Life Care Center of Morgan County.

Bane was a passenger in the van and died in the accident.

Three others were also on the van. Kelly Hall, age 57, was driving the van and was injured. Sandra Mitchell, age 70, and Cynthia King, age 60, were also on board the van. The report says Mitchell was injured and King was not injured.

The report also states the Lifecare van left the roadway and down an embankment before coming to an uncontrolled stop.
